Bride of Blush Spotlight: Angi + Ben Bricker

Read below and take a peek inside Mr. + Mrs. Bricker's beautiful wedding at Historic Acres of Hershey. Angi shares some great advice for future brides-to-be as well. Let's get started!

Tell us how you and Ben met and share a bit about your love story.

Ben and I matched on a dating app while he was still stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba - he is in the navy! He came home on leave and we met, and ended up spending every minute together during the 2 weeks he was home. Soon after, he received orders to be stationed in Lemoore, CA and we took the leap of faith and moved together. And then, we decided to take another leap of faith and get married! We got married before his first major deployment. Then, we decided to have a big, white wedding after his deployment would be over (he got home in February). We celebrated with all our friends and family in May of this year!

How did you discover Blush Bridal and tell us about your experience?

I was searching on google-"Lancaster based wedding dress companies" and Blush Bridal had incredible reviews and an incredible selection of dresses on Pinterest so I wanted to give them a try! Alanna was my bridal consultant and she was amazing!! Made me feel beautiful in everything but definitely knew which dress I would end up saying yes to! I had an incredible experience!!

How did you know that your dress was THE one?

I felt the most comfortable and confident in it! We all kept comparing all the other dresses to that one and knew it was the one!

What advice would you share with brides when shopping for their dream dress?

It's okay to be nervous and don’t be afraid to try something you went in assuming you wouldn’t like!

Where did you get married?

We got married at Historic Acres of Hershey.

Any piece of advice you could give to brides when planning your wedding?

Stick to what you want and don’t let anyone step on your toes! It’s your and your soon to be hubby’s day - no one else’s!

What was your favorite detail about your wedding?

Ben and I each had an empty chair in the front row along the aisle for two people who were huge pieces of us but have passed away. The chairs were dedicated to them, with a picture of them each (his grandma, my mom) and flowers on each chair. This added detail made it extremely personal and special!

Is there anything else you want to share about your special day for our future "Brides-of-Blush" ?

We couldn’t have this most amazing day without our wedding planners at Simply Events , our parents and bridesmaids/groomsmen! Having help planning the wedding was such a major stress relief and helped us enjoy the day that much more!
