Tell us how you and Eric met and share a bit about your love story
I was trained in the Phoenixville cath lab by Eric's dad, Dave, 10 years ago. We remained friends on Facebook ever since. One evening Eric noticed his dad scrolling through FB, and my profile happened to catch Eric's eye. Eric said, "Dad, who's this girl? You know I'm single now, hook me up!" One night, Eric was feeling brave and messaged me on Instagram and said, "Hey you're super cute." Well, I obviously ignored it thinking it was just another dumb boy sliding into my DMs. Several weeks later, Dave (Eric's dad) posted a picture of his son and daughter going to the Sixers game on Christmas day. I messaged Dave asking if the boy in his picture was his son. I jokingly said, " I'm not sure if your son knows that we know each other but he messaged me a couple weeks ago." Dave replied, "Oh he knows!"
I eventually messaged Eric back after he shared a video of a bulldog. I told Eric, "Well, maybe if you would have told me Dave was your dad, you might have had a better chance." Our first date was on January 24th 2020 at Lancaster Brewing Company followed by Thistle and Finch Brewery. We made our relationship official on February 27th 2020 and Eric popped the question on May 22nd 2021 with a surprise proposal. He told me that they were having family photos done on the beach. A little over a month later on July 8th, we found out that we were expecting our first son! Surprise! Crazy how things just happen!
How did you discover Blush Bridal and tell us about your experience?
It came across my search online for top bridal salons near me. I thought their selection of gowns looked beautiful and the price range was reasonable. Blush Bridal was the first and last place I went!
How did you know that your dress was THE one?
It’s crazy to think that when I went dress shopping, everyone fell in love with a different dress, it was the first one I tried on and it was a puffy A-line…But when I tried this one on, I automatically fell in love with it, but everyone was still stuck on the first dress. I was going back and forth between the two dresses until I finally put my foot down and said, “Come on guys, this is sooo ME!” It was fitted, had sparkles, beading and ornate floral detail. I am so glad I stayed true to myself because I felt like a freakin Goddess in this dress! It was simply perfect for our special day!
What advice would you share with brides-to-be when shopping for their dream dress?
Keep your dress shopping party small, it’s easy to feel discouraged when others are not on the same page as you. Too many different opinions can really get in the way of your vision. Most importantly stay true to yourself!
Where did you get married?
Melhorn Manor. It was a beautiful, intimate venue and guests enjoyed having the ceremony and reception in one location.
Any piece of advice you could give to brides when planning your wedding?
Make sure to book your hair and makeup stylist at least a year in advance! Try to work on little things at a time and save money where you can. We did a lot of DIY projects and used Facebook market place! I even used a lot of our house decor in our reception area. All of my floral arrangements were made by my maid of honor. We used hobby lobby flowers, and my bridesmaids were able to keep their bouquets.
What was your favorite detail about your wedding?
We had our 6 month old son and English bulldog in our wedding. We had our flower girl put dog treats down the aisle instead of flowers. Eric’s sister walked Ellie down the aisle and ate the treats along the way. His other sister then wheeled our son, Ellis, in a wagon down the aisle with a little sign that said “Daddy, here comes Mommy.” Eric was a blubbery mess when I walked down the aisle.
I highly recommend DJ Sir Chris! I asked for booty poppin’ music and he did not disappoint! @UpdosbyKarina for hair and @KikimJones for makeup…they both had me feeling like a million bucks! We used Hess’s Catering & their food was amazing! Jenna Mummau was our amazing photographer; she’s cutting back on wedding sessions, but I had to give her a shoutout.
